Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 12/04/2011

Number: 1

Humming bird (tiny and green) came to our hummingbird feeder several times on Saturday Dec. 3 and again today Dec. 4th. We have had lows of 32 degrees, some rain. We had taken our feeder down in early November, but the hummingbirds would come directly in front of our windows and fly back and forth, so as to tell us - get the nectar feed back out, we are here! So we did. We are wondering if it would be helpful to hang some type of habitat from our eaves for them for protection from the winter weather. It will be into the low 20's in the next few days. We worry about these little birds and want to help. Thanks for any ideas you may have. Our feeder is from Poteet Tx and the birds sit and drink for 30 seconds to a minute and half. Con and Chuck
