The Virginia Living Museum's Raccoon Patrol Class of Grade K&1 students planted their Red Emperor tulips in the museum's Children's Learning Garden today. They were planted in the newly renovated central raised bed surrounded by retaining bricks, which may impact soil temperatures. The previous raised Tulip beds were held in place by wooden boards. Other renovations to the area may allow more light to shine on this bed than in previous years. The Children’s Learning Garden began with Journey North tulips planted in the fall 1998.
