Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/28/2011

Number: 1

Hello, we are Stratford Friends School. This is our first time planting a Journey North Tulip garden and we’re glad we did it. We planted our tulips and we are interested in seeing the results.
First we registered with the Journey North website and then we recorded what the Emperor Tulip bulbs looked, smelled, and felt like. We even determined what the tulip bulbs sounded like (wax paper).
We recorded the weight and circumference of each of the tulip bulbs we planted. We dug up a small plot of land. Since three separate classes helped to dig or tulip bed, it took us three hours! Altogether we planted 20 tulip bulbs. 19 of the tulip bulbs were fine but there was one bulb that was moldy; we hope it grows.
Our red Emperor Tulips still have not grown much, but we think they are going to bloom between March and May 2012.
