Date: 12/27/2011

Number: 1

Today is sunny and I have seen several monarch caterpillars. One is making a chrsalisis. It has been wet and cold latley so I was kind of surprised they survived.I saw a very fresh looking monarch butterfly yesterday on the ground recently killed I think by a bird as its body was pecked and Ive had lots of birds around latley. Most of my butterfly weed is alive some very healthy some withered by cold. Many leaves have been eaten away but still many healthy leaves remain. Some are still blooming. My bottlebrush tree has beautiful blooms on it which will provide nectar.
