Our second grade students planted 75 Red Emperor tulips. We are very excited about being a part of this project. This is a picture of us planning our tulips. As you can see we wanted to make sure that we placed our tulips the right distance apart. It is supposed to rain here tonight and tomorrow, so we had to hurry to get them all planted. We think our tulips will enjoy the rain after having to be in the refrigerator for so long. We put our tulip bulbs in the refrigerator to force them into dormancy. We were a little late in doing this, so please keep this in mind when comparing our garden to yours. They were put into the refrigerator on December 5, 2011.
