As we were planting our bulbs, we observed many earthworms. They were either short and fat or thin and long. When the soil is light and fresh we know the earthworms are at work. The earthworm seemed to follow our digging as we moved around the bed. We didn't want to cut them. We also saw beetles and larvae.

We put a fence and signs on our bed and hope that it won't be disturbed.
