Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/18/2012

Number: 1

There are literally THOUSANDS of robins here, southwest of Austin, Texas. I've never seen so many robins (or any bird) in one place. They fly over my house heading southwest at sunset; it takes 30 minutes for the whole flock to pass over. They rest at night in the open spaces out southwest of Austin (some in the fields behind my house). Then in the morning at sunrise, they all fly back northeast again. I wonder where they go during the day? Then they return to the same fields and trees at night. This coming-and-going pattern is like clockwork. I've been watching these waves/flocks for a week, and the robins are still here. Amazing!! I've never seen this in Austin.
