We have not had a killing frost, and the monarch caterpillars keep appearing and growing up. I keep taking them from shorn milkweed plants and putting them on leafy plants, but I'm going to run out of plants soon. One caterpillar attached itself to a window of the sunporch and began lowering itself into the formed chrysalis but something interrupted it (cold weather?) and it died half way in the chrysalis. (I took a picture but have not downloaded it yet.) There are at least two adult monarchs in my yard.
