Tulips EMERGED

Date: 01/23/2012

Number: 1

Today, our tulips started to emerge. We planted 75 bulbs, and 6 of them have started to emerge. Some of them had a little red top, but most of them had green tops. We have had a lot of rain and very warm weather. We think that is why our tulip emerged so quickly. We are so excited. Please keep in mind that we only had our tulip in the refrigerator for 5 weeks and 2 days. We did notice that one of the Journey North gardens in Texas had bulbs emerge today. We are interested in finding out if they put their in the refrigerator or not. If they did then we might think that 5 weeks might be long enough to refrigerate if you need to do this outside of the Journey North Project. We are taking really good care of our tulips as you can see in the pictures. We covered them up with chicken wire to keep out squirrels and dogs from digging them up. We are going to have to take it off now that they have started to emerge.
