"A big flock of Sandhill Cranes is headed north in Indiana. On the 30th of JANUARY!
They were so loud over my house, circling for altitude, that I heard them from inside with the windows closed. I went out and watched them circle until they were specks, and then they headed north-northwest.
Normally I see the cranes headed south in November and north in March. This year is anything but normal. My daffodils are up, including the buds, the skunks have been out for weeks, and now the maple buds are swelling."
