Today while visiting the Charleston, SC area I saw a monarch flying SW while we were driving NE on Sullivan's Island adjacent to Ft. Moultrie. This location is E-SE of Charleson, SC next to the Atlantic Ocean. Temps were about 66 F, light breeze. Several residents have flower gardens but this was the only butterfly seen all day.
