WOW!!! This Sunday at Riverbend Park saw SEVEN bald eagles (5 adult, 2 subadult) soaring sky-high in the thermals over the Potomac River. They were W-A-Y up there, but there was no mistaking their enormous wingspans and snow-white heads and tails. Am thinking they were migrating, due to their height in the air. However, eagles do nest along the river, so not certain they weren't 'locals' simply enjoying the beautiful afternoon and commanding vistas. Either way it was a treat for us!!
