I believe this may be my first-ever bald eagle sighting for Journey North? I know for certain it's my first-ever eagle sighting in my hometown of Reston, VA, SQUEAL! My husband and I were walking through a lovely stream valley, in search of some 'good' winter birds. Thankfully we thought to look up ocassionally, and that's when we spotted the two adult eagles circling high-high-high up on a thermal, sunlight streaming through their translucent tails, their dark brown-and-white plumage magnificent against a cerulean sky!
