The winter has been exceptionally mild with temps ranging 30F-80F. Continuing to see 2-3 Monarchs per day either feeding and resting on blooming milkweed or just traveling through the neighborhood. In the last 2 weeks we've had 21 chrysalis in the backyard. 13 have opened successfully and 3 are still pending. The remainder either failed to develop or died shortly afterward. 10-15 caterpillars are still feeding on the milkweed.
