At the corner of College Blvd and Ridgeview Rd in a somewhat rural area of Johnson County outside of Kansas City, I spotted a Red Wing Blackbird on top of a cat tail near a small water shed area. FYI - We have had a mild winter so far; no snow yet. According to a local weather man, there was one winter during the 1930's had no snow until March 6th. Our precipitation is down 10" this year. Back to our fine feathered friends, Canadian geese seem to be mating and selecting nesting areas in the area. As always, many thanks to Journey North for all the great work you do!
