Bald Eagle

Date: 02/07/2012

Number: 1

I was driving along Jefferson Ave on the shores of Lake St. Clair when I saw a large bird flying over head. I had my binoculars with me because I had heard of sightings of snowy owls in the area. The eagle flew directly over me for about 5 minutes and continued a little north. This is the first time I have seen one this far south in Michigan. Also sighted very large flocks of many species of ducks on the lake. Due to the mild winter here this year, the lake has not frozen.
