I heard the bird singing on the morning of February 6. It was a very familiar sound, but one that I hadn't heard recently. When I realized it was a blackbird song, I was quite surprised. I looked out the window and saw it on a tree branch in the backyard. The wing-bar was quite yellow. I had never before heard (or seen) a blackbird at this time of the year in Michigan.
