My first Monarch butterfly of the season eclosed on 2/14/12 in my greenhouse! The chrysalis had fallen off the milkweed plant and I had taken it to work to show people what a chrysalis looked like. I thought that the chrysalis was no longer viable) During the day at work I noticed that the chrysalis was changing and getting darker. I realized that the Monarch could be on its way. I went home that evening, put the chrysalis back into the greenhouse (after attaching it to a band aid and wrapping the band aid around a pencil). The next day when I went out to the Greenhouse the Monarch had eclosed and was still in my Greenouse!
