My first sighting of the season occured about 12:30 PM on 2/18/2012. It seems a bit early for a Monarch to be flying through!! This one was large and appeared in good health. It briefly visited a couple flowers in my back yard, and headed North across the Sonora Desert. It is going to run into some mountains and northern snow storms if it does not sit tight for a couple weeks. 62 degrees here at sighting.
