On an outdoor observation, my class came upon a very unusual sight for our area in February - pussywillows! Our area has had above average temperatures for the last 2 weeks, with both sun and rain, but its surprising to see these catkins (proper name for the fuzzy blossoms) this early. The class wonders what will happen to the tree when (not if) we return to normal winter weather.
