Collected the first frog eggs of the season. It has been warm, but we haven't heard the tell-tale chorus of spring peepers. Then this afternoon the kids spotted the eggs in the little creek and we have collected a few of the clusters to observe their development and hatch. We will be listening now for the incessant chirrup and throb of the peepers chorus.
PS I've noticed our Tulip Garden neighbors in Richmond and Charlottesville have reported emergences but here in the rural middle of those two heat sink cities tulips are still tucked safely underground.
