I was driving South on S.R. 39 outside of La Porte India and wa watching the side of the road when I notice two red-winged blackbirds sitting on cattails alongside the road. It was near dusk so I could not see the colorings clearly, but I could tell by the way the birds sat on the sides of the cattails that they were definitely red-winged blackbirds. Is this rather early for them to be up in the Indiana area?
