Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 01/28/2012

Number: 1

Each January, Chert Glades Chapter of Missouri Master Naturalists partner with the community of Stella MO. to share the Bald Eagles that come to winter in SW MO. This year, the weather was perfect and over 1000 people watched soaring and perched, adult and juvenile Bald Eagles in a day-long celebration of our national avian species! Most of these Bald Eagles will depart by early March, but a few will remain to raise a family and continue to enjoy the habitat of streams (and roadkill) that attracts them!
