Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 02/29/2012

Number: 1

Today Ms. McComas' class, 3D, observed that 1 tulip had bloomed. 2 had almost bloomed. Our blooming tulip is 22 cm tall. All of our tulips had grown. Students felt that the tulips didn't need as much water as they did before becuase they weren't as wrapped up and funnel-like to capture the water. Our smallest just emerging tulip looked like it had been nibbled by an animal, perhaps either a worm or squirrel! We saw a range of colors, red, orange, green, pinkish and brown. One of our experimental tulips had a double bud, one taller than the other. When we watered them students noticed beading of the water on the stems, leaves and petals.
