We have a pair of barn swallows who nest in our doorway. Each year they usually arrive and begin rebuilding their nest in May. They arrived and began building today, February 29th, 2012 (the box at the top did not allow the correct form of the date, so I had to eliminate the 0 before the 2 for February). I mentioned this sighting to a few people, and someone suggested reporting this here. I can provide pictures of the nest attempt. It's pretty hard to get a good picture of them/it (I only saw one): even though they are very defensively aggressive, they are really small and move quickly!
