The tulip leaf tips seemed to pop out of the soil over night. The first sighting of green was on 02/22/12. Following their initial showing, we had snow and rain and high winds, some 50-60 degree days and some in the 40's, but they have continued to grow 1-3 cenitmeters a day. Interestingly, four rows sprouted first and the other four rows sprouted on 02/28/12 after the snow had melted. We hypothesized that the shadow of the fence made a difference in the time the tulips sprouted. We are waiting for the first showing of red!
