Our first robin of the season proudly showed himself to me by sitting right on top of the fountain in our bird bath. It was almost as if he wanted someone to notice his appearance. He looked to be pretty beat up with ruffled feathers over his entire body.

2 days later I saw another robin (or possibly the first one again). The second one also appeared to have pretty rough plumage, which makes me think these early arrivals had a hard trip north this spring.
