A totally unexpected sight so late in the year, but ... at 4pm on a sunny day of 70 degrees F, I saw a bright beautiful monarch nectaring on our potted orange marigold flowers. She was extremely intent and did not mind my taking a few photos. I accidentally put a photo of my horse instead of the monarch on my last observation, so hopefully this time I'll get it right. :)
