Bald Eagle

Date: 03/09/2012

Number: 1

On Wednesday March 7th 2012 I was outside my home on Eglin AFB, Florida when myself and my children noticed two bald eagles flying just above a group of pine trees approximately 50 feet from where we were standing. They seemed to be calling back and forth to each other and were the only birds in sight. They have great feeding opportunities in this area due to our proximity to the coast and the bayou within walking distance from our home. It was a wonderful opportunity for my entire family because the only bald eagles my boys had seen previously were at the zoo or at Busch Gardens, VA. My 6 year old kept saying, "That's one of our symbols!" He was so excited to see our nation's symbol of freedom!
