I saw my first spring Monarch today at 3:45 pm in far northwest Austin (near 620 and 183). Passing about 20' overhead with directional flight towards the north. Strong winds have been out of the south for the past few days ahead of a cold front. Cold front arrived within minutes of seeing the Monarch. It was too high and too fast to discern sex, but it appeared faded.
