Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 03/09/2012

Number: 1

My husband put up a hummingbird feeder last weekend. This evening after dinner we saw our first hummingbird on the feeder. It was getting dark and we couldn't determine the species so I looked in Sibley's "Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America." We both agreed that it was either a ruby-throated hummingbird or a black-chinned hummingbird.
