I had my kitchen balcony door open and had just put out seed for the birds when I heard the unmistakable call of one of my favorite birds the red winged blackbird. I was quite surprised because they are not usually around here so early in the year, I supposed the mild weather has prompted their early arrival. Sure enough when I went out he was their in all his glory having a fest. I always say to myself when I first hear their call..Spring has arrived!!
