sap started running very early today...temp +14C by noon. shawn and ryan tapped 21 trees in the hollow- picked up a barrel of sap by 5:30. video'd the sap running from the trees...amazing!!! there is still snow int he bush but it is melting fast. long-range forecast for the week says by thursday we will have nite-time temp of +8. geese on the pond, many more red-wings singing and a big flock of robins everywhere. chickadees continue to sing a spring song. lilac buds down at Paul's farm are swelling but ours aren't yet. finishing off the second batch of sap at the firepit tomorrow a.m. what a beautiful day!!
