shawn and ryan tapped the hollow today- 21 new taps and paul tapped the tree on the road. sap is literally running from the trees. temp is up to +14C and the snow is fast disappearing. old spile scars show that snow levels were very high a few years ago. we don't think there will be many more days before the buds swell...too warm!! gathered 1 barrel of sap from the new taps by 5:30..add to the second batch that will come off the pan tomorrow. looks like a short but sweet season.
