Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/10/2012

Number: 1

Sighting was about 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon - storms were pushing into the area, but rain did not occur until late evening and night. Wind was gusty, at 10 - 20 miles. The monarch was a female and feeding at the flowers of a callery pear that was in full bloom. Tropical milkweed was available and blooming in large pots, but no eggs were found. This is the earliest spring sighting for me at this location.
