My husband, Bill, saw our first monarch of this season today at about 1pm. It was faded, but healthy, and was flying across our yard. Later around 5pm, I saw another monarch flying and it began nectaring on the white blossoms of our large pear tree which is in full spring bloom. This monarch also appeared healthy with faded wings. This was our first sunny day after 4 days of rain. The temperatures were in the low 70's. (Adding a photo of the pear tree blossoms, alas no chance to photograph the nectaring monarch.)
