My grandson, Cole, sighted the single Monarch first while we were eating lunch around 2:30pm. I could not believe it myself. The Monarch was dancing around the bushes just outside the dining room window on a beautiful sunny day, temperature near 75 degrees. After lunch we scoured the garden for more butterflies with no luck.

I finally got a close-up shot of one the first Monarchs we have seen in Central Texas. I was very careful to 'sneek up' on this lone butterfly I have been watching the past three days.
