Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/12/2012

Number: 1

Late afternoon, One male Ruby-Throated hummer fed at the hummingbird feeder several times and rested on a nearby cassia bush. He seemed smaller than the last hummer seen. Perhaps a young one? He seemed contented to rest until he was spooked by a mourning dove flying over him to another bird feeder. He took off in an easterly direction but did not stop at the neighbor's bottle brush tree about 30 feet away. The weather was sunny, temp in the low 80's. slight breeze from the SE.
