All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/15/2012

Number: 1

An unidentified bumble bee zoomed by today. It was most likely a queen as they emerge first from their winter burrows and search for a site to build a nest. We have had a few sunny days, but day temps are high 30s to low 40s and it is still at or below freezing at night. There is nothing blooming nearby for a food source. Do you think this bee will survive?
