Our first monarch sighting of 2012. About 1:00 PM, the butterfly flitted through our garden, checked out Salvia gregii in bloom, and moved on northward. I am a native plant searcher in North Central Texas and have not seen any milkweed yet. I send many monarch/milkweed observations to Kip Kiphart at the Cibolo Nature Center in Boerne TX.
