About 3 weeks ago, I noticed one Monarch butterfly hovering around one of four a butterfly weeds planted 2 years ago. Then I noticed a blight of little kernels covering whole branches of that very scraggly plant, not knowing they must have been a LOT of eggs.
Last week, I discovered 3 little caterpillars, and now two more. One has grown much faster than the others--or maybe I just didn't see it. They are running out of leaves.
There is no activity on the other butterfly weeds in my yard.
