Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/04/2012

Number: 1

March 18
It's been at least 2 weeks since I saw the first monarch; a warm winter meant my butterfly bush never died back and has been blooming for a while. I am a more casual nature observer, but now that I know what to look for I'll keep an eye out for eggs. I saw an adult Monarch yesterday (3/17); didn't see any eggs today but may just be missing them. Did find two new caterpillars and will try to watch out for them. We have weather forecasts of pretty strong winds and rains Monday and Tuesday, hopefully it won't negatively impact the larvae or chrysalis. Photo taken March 11
