Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/19/2012

Number: 1

We started getting Monarchs in January on our milkweed after not seeing any since October, we had been getting queens until December then they dropped off. The milkweed had grown back and has been stripped twice by the Monarchs since. I just saw one hatch over the weekend and we had two hatch last week (females), so far this year we have hatched 17 from our plants, bringing them into the office to pupate & hatch.

Except for last week I haven't been tracking male/female, it does seem that most come back to our plants where we found them. None seem to be traveling in any particular direction.

Weather has been going back and forth between hot and dry to windy to rainy a couple of days, only cool-ish once or twice.
