Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/20/2012

Number: 1

Most of our milkweed is cut back in the winter. We alternate beds and leave some up until the fresh milkweed emerges. It has been quite cold in the mornings but by mid day we are seeing fresh bright butterflies mating. We are observing lots of eggs. I would estimate we have about 4-6 Monarch's a day. We have only had a few dead and ragged monarchs.
