Birds are passing through well enough. Plants are sprouting also. What is strange is treetops are greening like at the very tops of them and the understory is just starting up when this early it should be the other way around.Like trees went from nothing to almost fully leaved not the usual slow progression of leafing flowering bottom to the top, sap rise seemed a full process before it was tiem for sap to rise. May be because the air temps warmed faster than ground temps which started back in January. Now shade where there are trees is going to cover much of the ground before the usual climatic greening from the ground up ever gets started.
May be the same with weather. The storm system coming through right now was advanced by a wind out of the south southeast instead of winds from the west southwest. This may mean the system is actually one system passing, the warmest one, over the top of another colder one, and they are mixing from the top down instead of from the ground up instead of butting heads nose to nose.
Migratories are coming into a spring climate but it has conditions of almost summer for insects, flowers, polination, leafing, transporation so forth. I don't know it this is good or bad for wildlife but I suspect it is a little confusing for them.
