Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/01/2012

Number: 1

We are invaded by robins migrating from the north!!!!! We have seen the biggest heat wave in history for march! Temperature reaching 28oC in some parts of New Brunswick!!!! (average temperature at this time of year is 1oC during the daytime and -10 at night.
) Snow is melting at a torrid paste. In 3 days (March 20-22) we have lost more than 70% of our snow!

We had no robins after the fall migration and they just popped in in Feb. The plumage look different from the robins coming from the south. They we showing sign of maturity that I could no see in the spring migration.

See when this Northern Observation Post predicted first robin!
Robins from the north have migrated in great number since the end of January. Warm weather and food availability are some of the factors noted.
