First milkweed of 2012. Mockingbird Park in Midlothian, TX. An old cow pasture, now a city park, looked after by local Master Naturalists. Plant: Asclepas asperula (antelope-horns), just 1 with 5 prostrate stems and a few flower heads with flower buds. Monarch butterflies in the park but not within a few hundred feet.
