Record 11 days 70 deg. or above, in a row, for march. This year saw the first leafing out on the early shrubs followed quickly by most shrubs leafing out. A day or 2 later the blooms were seen of Magnolia, Bradford pears, apple and cherries and also the weeping variety all around the 17th. The tulips shot bulbs up in 3 days for 1st bloom on 3/23 Temps in the 20s last night caused most to wilt over this AM. Maples making "Helicopter seeds" this year noticed on 23rd. Saw first cottontail rabbit in Meyersdale, Pa (Pa Maple festival) on 26th. The grass lawn has all these 6' - 10" tall weeds with leaves that kinda look like pine needles. The also have a tiny white flower at the top. Noticed the Robin females, seen some territory male battles. The regular male here was seen early under the suet feeder in the wintered over Parsley bed many times, set out apples slices but not sure if Robin was the taker. Still looking for Red wing blackbird. Seen the first little butterflies about 10 days ago. A few white ones then a yellow one ( think they where "cabbage" type). The native lillies leaves are about 8" tall today, noticed that they are more on their typical spring schedule (timid) vs other spring changes. Sugar peas up 2 - 3". Next door neighbors cut lawn for first time on 25th and 26th. During the warm spell last couple weeks saw fleas, gnats, flies, little mud bees, big bumble bees and 2 wasp fighting, the yearly small ants are trying to stock up on our crumbs, noticed about a week ago. The mid 20s freeze last night prob. ended all the current flowers in bloom widespread all over. Doesn't look like it did anything to those darn weeds :)
