I first put my feeders out in early February, so I am even more delighted to report that I saw my first hummingbird just now! One male Ruby-Throated made a stop at my feeder.
(Incidentally, for the last two years, I had made feeder shades from large orange bowls; suspecting the birds might recognize one, or at least be attracted to it, I set a new bowl on top of a nearby bush. Two days later, I have at least one bird. Coincidence?)
