Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/07/2011

Number: 300

We had hundreds and hundreds of Monarchs stay over in our yard in NW Lower Michigan over the course of a few days last fall (estimated date of September 7). That prompted our search for Monarch migration information.

We tried to recall exactly when it was, but the closest we could get was late August/early to mid-September? We live in Atwood Michigan, about 12 miles north of the 45th parallel, close to Lake Michigan. We just moved there last summer, and it seems we're on a migratory path of sorts for birds too. It's very exciting!

Editor's Note: We are estimating "hundreds and hundreds" at 300 monarchs.
